Budget Philosophy

School Budgeting is where you apply dollars to the Mission, Strategies, Objectives, and Goals of the District.
Plans without financial support are only dreams.

Local citizens entrust two of the most precious things they have, their children and their money, to school district financial managers. School Finance and Budget Staff have the highest responsibility to manage public resources in a responsibile manner. Every penny has to be maximized to give each student his or her full opportunity to learn.

The Collier County Public School(CCPS) District Budget Department Supports the Superintendent, the School Board and the District's Mission, Strategies and Goals.

The Budget Department at CCPS serves as a resource, not an obstacle for school staff and departmental staff. Policies and Procedures are constantly reviewed to improve efficiency. Input and collaboration are solicited from district staff. Every e-mail message sent out by Budget Department Staff contains the following message:

The Budget Department continuously seeks ways to improve our supportive role for schools and departments. If you have any suggestions for improving our processes, or want to make a comment, please call the Director of Budget at 377-0065, or send an email response to mcguirph@collier.k12.fl.us.
